Why it’s Hard to Make a Recyclable Toothpaste Tube?

The toothpaste tube is known to be one of the most complex tubes when it comes to the recycling process. Many people think that as the laminate tubes are made of plastic and aluminum so it can easily get recycle.  But it is not the case for all tubes.

Why is it difficult to recycle?

Well, if you take a look at the recyclable toothpaste tubes, then they are the squeezable toothpaste tubes. These tubes are of plastic, but in it, different other materials are also there.

As per research by an agency, it states that the toothpaste laminated tubes have many materials. For that all, when it comes to the recycling process, these tubes get challenging to recycle. The main reason is that it is difficult to take out different materials from the tube. 

Reason for the use of different materials in tubes

In toothpaste laminated tubes, you can see that the materials used for making the tubes are having different properties. Though you may see that the tubes are made of plastic and aluminum, they still have other materials in them too.

Furthermore, these materials are there to give a better property to the tubes so that they can last long. So, when you use the contents inside the tubes, you think that these tubes are suitable for recycling. 

But in reality, they are not and are challenging to recycle. The different materials have different properties, and as they are mix together, so it is quite challenging to remove them. For all these things, the tubes usually can’t get recycled.
